The Football Academy is the biggest investment not only of PANATHINAIKOS but also of the entire Greek Football community. Children from across Greece and from other countries as well, are selected each year to join the program of the Academy. After being selected they move into the Athletic Centre of Peania, where they develop their talent and are prepared to become professional football players.
The children reside in the hotel of the Athletic Centre where, apart from the intensive training, they also attend school courses that are expensed to the Academy. Moreover, they are tutored in foreign languages and school courses. In the hotel there are a restaurant, a game room, a television room, a sauna, R &R rooms, etc.
The youth team, in the 2004-05 season, won the Greek championship and the international tournament Copa Amsterdam.
