With a small group of representatives but with a very positive attitude Panathinaikos travelled to the isolated little island Agios Efstratios, locally called Ai Stratis, to visit the primary and high school children and offer sport equipment from the Club.
The island is located in North Aegean Sea, southwest of Limnos with maximum 300 residents. It is a place full of history and also connected for decades as a place for political exile.
Panathinaikos offered to the director of the school the book “100 years Panathinaikos” and also visited at the Town Hall, the Mayor of the island Mrs. Maria Kakalas who described the difficulties of living. We also offered to the Mayor the special edition about our team’s course in the European Cup final at Wembley in 1971.
