Ajax Amsterdam, Standard de Liege and Celta de Vigo S.A.D. are going to be the opponents of Panathinaikos in the seventh group of Europa League, as this was the result of today’s draw, in Monaco.

The first match of our team will be against Ajax and will take place in “Apostolos Nikolaides” Stadium, on the 15th of September and the last one against Celta de Vigo, again in Leoforos, on the 8th of December, according to schedule.

Referring to the draw, Panathinaikos’ football director, Gilberto Silva, spoke to the official site of our Club:

“I think that it was a good draw for Panathinaikos, although not a very easy one. It is very important, as now we are in Europa League, to maintain the mentality and the competitiveness we had in the previous games. We must continue the same hard work and show all the abilities Panathinaikos has.

No team is considered a front runner. All teams start from zero and if they don’t play well, then any name they may have does not count. What is important for us is to be ready for the challenge in front of us. It won’t be easy. When a team plays in Europe the level is even higher and it should be capable to fulfill the expectations”.
