Our Club now remains without a victory for November.

The outstanding goal scored by Lucas Villafañes in the 3rd minute of the additional time was just enough to “save” one point for Panathinaikos, which continues to preoccupy with its appearance on the pitch, being unable to win even in Nea Smyrni, getting a 1-1 draw against Panionios for the 12th match day of Super League’s championship.

The first period was just a continuity of the … previous ones. Panathinaikos was instable, lacking creativity and unable to hit the target as this is the case at the previous games as well. Slightly aggressive, mainly forwarded by Hult from the left side, giving the opportunity to Lod for a rolling shoot in the box and a strong straight shoot by Wakaso out of the box, both of them, though, far away from the opponent’s goalposts.

Panionios was feeling a gradual lack of threat from the part of their guests and moved forward creating many dangerous chances (mainly by Economou and Massouras) getting very close to score a goal. Odysseas Vlachodimos saved in a very efficient way his goalposts at his debut in the championship.

The second half had another rhythm.

In the second period the game had a totally different rhythm: Quick transitions from the defense towards the front line by both teams which created many chances. At that time the “Shamrock” started the game in a much more threatening way, forwarding the ball mainly with Mesto, from the right side in order to create chances in the opponent’s box. The initiative of Berg, who missed the target from very close after Wakaso’s pass, was the most remarkable of all.

Panionios was, though, the team to open the score by Ansarifard who took advantage of a cross ball from Massoud at the back of the defense who placed the ball correctly in the opponent’s goalposts in the 71st minute.

Panathinaikos, contrary to what happened in previous games, showed a reaction and created chances to score, letting spaces which were gained by the hosts to create more opportunities.

Finally, the efforts by the “Greens” were rewarded just before the end of the game. Thanks to Villafañes who controlled amazingly a long ball by Mesto and shot a diagonal shoot to the target from the penalty area of the box Panathinaikos draw, remaining though without victories since the 30th of October.
