A penalty successfully executed by Sebastian Leto made the difference between Panathinaikos and AEK in the match held at “Ap. Nicolaidis” stadium for the fourth match day of the Playoffs of the Super League’s championship and finished in a 1-0 victory for the hosting team.

The fact that just one goal was able to make the difference in that game, was something easily noticed as on the pitch the productive activity of the 22 footballers was extremely limited. The absences in the “Green” forwarding line didn’t allow them to achieve their well known attacking standards. The guests, despite their ball possession, were not very aggressive. What one will remember from the first half of the duel is just a minute during which the two best chances of the game were lost: A header by Moledo, which went straight to the post, after a corner and a counterattack from AEK, following a beat back by Galo, as Christodoulopoulos confronted Vlachodimos and the latter saved the ball.

The second half was not in a different mode! Although AEK tried to win the ball possession its players were creating free spaces and the “Shamrock” tried to take advantage of that situation. In such a case a throw in by Lod and the militant attitude of Chatziyiovanis caused a penalty committed by Galo. Leto executed it and scored the winning goal. This was the final score (1-0) as during the remaining 35 minutes of game (including the extra time) ΑΕΚ was not able to threaten its opponents at all and the “Greens” managed quite easily to keep the result in their favor.
