Nikos Lymberopoulos was born on the 4th of August of 1975 in Filiatra, Messinia. He started his football career in Filiatra and continued in Kalamata. In 1996 he was transferred to Panathinaikos as the most talented player in the Greek football. He has played during seven years wearing the Shamrock in his chest, appearing in 270 games and scoring 103 goals for the championship, the Greek Cup and the European competitions.
Lyberopoulos is the 6th top scorer in Panathinaikos' history, after Warzycha, Antoniadis, Saravakos, Domazos and Panakis! In 2003 he moved to AEK and in 2008 he was transferred to Eintracht Frankfurt. In 2010 he returned to AEK and in 2012 he completed his career as a football player. He played in 76 matches with the national team of Greece, scoring 13 times. Concluding his career as a footballer, he became a football players manager. In June 2013 he was hired by AEK as its football director, staying in that position till June 2014.
