Olivier Boumal was born in Duala, Cameroon. He started his career as an amateur playing for Georges Fominyen FC till the age of 16, when he moved to Centre de Formation de Paris, France. In 2008 he went to Saint Etienne's academy where he stayed for two years. In January 2010 he was spotted by Panetolikos, competing at that time at the second division. In summer 2012 he went to the Romanian team Astra, where he stayed for six months till he joined Levadiakos. In 2013 he moved to Heraklis Psachnon, where he had an excellent season and then he joined Panionios. In January he was transferred to Panathinaikos. He debuted with the "Greens" on the 7th of January 2016 at the match between PAS Yannina - Panathinaikos 1-2, for the Greek Cup.
