FC Panathinaikos announces the start of its cooperation with Christos Kontis, who will immediately assume the management of the team.
This is the second tenure of the Greek coach on Panathinaikos’ bench, with whom he won the Greek Cup in 2024! It is also his third stint in the club’s technical staff, as from the summer of 2021 until December 2023 he was the first assistant coach of Ivan Jovanovic.
Christos Kontis began his coaching career at the age of 36 as an assistant coach at APOEL. He then moved to Al Nasr in the United Arab Emirates. In the 2017–18 season he worked as an assistant coach at Olympiacos and at the end of the season he took over as head coach for one and a half months. In 2019 he went to the UAE to coach Hatta, where he stayed for a year. In February 2024 he took charge of Volos, before joining our team.
