Panathinaikos FC is pleased to announce the return of goalkeeper Konstantinos Kotsaris. The 28-year-old, a product of the Club’s Youth Academy, rejoins Panathinaikos after five years, signing a two-year contract.
Born on July 25, 1996, in Athens, Kotsaris joined the Academy of Panathinaikos in 2007 from Aittitos Spaton at the age of 11. From an early stage, his talent was evident. He featured prominently across all youth levels of the Club and was a regular call-up to the national youth teams.
In March 2014, shortly before turning 18, he signed his first professional contract with Panathinaikos. That same summer, he participated in the senior team’s preseason for the first time. His official debut came on January 8, 2015, in a Greek Cup match against Chania.
In 2016, he extended his contract until 2018 and was loaned to Omonia Nicosia in Cyprus. He returned to Panathinaikos in the summer of 2017, rejoining the first team. In August of that year, he renewed his contract until 2021. His Super League debut came on November 11, 2018, in the away derby against Olympiacos (1–1), coming on in the 49th minute to replace the injured Sokratis Dioudis. His performance was outstanding.
In September 2020, Kotsaris was transferred to Apollon Smyrnis, concluding his first spell at Panathinaikos. He remained with the club for three seasons until 2023. The following season, he joined Athens Kallithea, playing a key role in the team’s promotion to the Super League.
In the summer of 2024, he signed with Kalamata, where he stood out as one of the top performers in Super League 2, earning the distinction of Best Goalkeeper in Group B.
We warmly welcome Konstantinos back to the Panathinaikos family.
