Panathinaikos FC announces the loan signing of Lucas Chaves, with an option to buy, from Argentinos Juniors. The Argentine goalkeeper is the club’s fourth winter transfer addition.
Lucas was born on August 9, 1995, in Martín Coronado, Argentina. He began his football career at a young age in the academy of River Plate, before joining the academy of Argentinos Juniors at the age of 15. He made his professional debut at 22.
He remained with Argentinos Juniors until the spring of 2022 and was then loaned to Huracán. In January 2024, he moved to Greece to join Panetolikos. During his two-year loan spell in Agrinio, he was a regular starter and an undisputed key player, while also serving as team captain.
At Panathinaikos, he will wear the shirt with number 12.
