Panathinaikos’ unstoppable run in the Super League continues. The Greens delivered a complete and commanding performance at the Olympic Stadium, beating Panetolikos 3-0 to make it four wins from four in the league and move clear at the top of the standings.
Jacob Neestrup’s players were in complete control from the opening minutes. They pressed high, moved the ball effectively and imposed their tempo on Panetolikos, who were unable to match the intensity of the Greens’ play.
The opening goal arrived in the 14th minute. Andino delivered an inch-perfect cross from the left with his right foot, and Taborda made a perfectly timed run before powering a downward header past Kucherenko, scoring for the fourth consecutive game in all competitions.
Panetolikos tried to respond and went close in the 23rd minute through Bassi, whose shot flew narrowly wide. In the 31st minute, Levi García threatened for Panathinaikos from inside the penalty area, but his effort went over the crossbar.
The Greens doubled their lead in the 39th minute. Louza won the ball high up the pitch, Calabria immediately found Ounahi, and the Moroccan produced a superb strike from the edge of the penalty area to send the ball into the net, scoring his first goal since returning to Panathinaikos.
Before half-time, the Greens created two more major opportunities. Louza’s shot went just wide in the 43rd minute, while in first-half stoppage time Andino played a through ball to Dessers. The striker rounded the opposing goalkeeper and shot towards the empty net, but Granath managed to clear the ball behind for a corner before it crossed the line.
Panathinaikos continued to attack after the interval in search of a third goal. Levi García tested Kucherenko with a powerful effort in the 52nd minute, while Peña reacted well to deny Djenepo in the 67th.
Two minutes later, Tetteh produced a spectacular individual run, beating every defender in his path, but his finish went very wide. In the 85th minute, Kucherenko temporarily kept the score at 2-0 with two outstanding saves in quick succession from efforts by Levi García and Tetteh.
The final 3-0 scoreline was sealed in stoppage time. Djenepo clearly brought Calabria down inside the penalty area, the referee pointed to the spot and the Italian stepped up to convert the penalty in the 90+2nd minute.
Panathinaikos claimed another convincing victory, moved clear at the top of the table and underlined their excellent start to the season, remaining unbeaten in all competitions.
