Panathinaikos lost 1-0 to Olympiacos in the derby of the fifth and penultimate round of the Stoiximan Super League playoffs, held at Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium.

The match was evenly balanced in the opening stages, with the Greens creating their first dangerous opportunity in the 15th minute through a fine run by Cerin and a shoot by Andino that was blocked by Costinha. The hosts responded in the 17th minute with a shot by Chiquinho that went over the crossbar of Lafont.

The Shamrock tried to create another threatening moment in the 27th minute after a pass from Calabria to Tetteh, but he was stopped by Tzolakis. Olympiacos eventually opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time (45+4′) in a move that began with an attacking foul by Taremi on Touba. The Iranian continued into the penalty area and shot from a tight angle; the ball struck Lafont and the post and Rodinei converted the rebound into an empty net to make it 1-0.

The second half was played at a slower pace, with Olympiacos managing their lead and Panathinaikos unable to find a way to create a serious threat.
