Panathinaikos, the ambassador of Greek football, wore its good European suit in Kozice, Slovakia and laid a solid foundation for qualification to the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League. Ivan Jovanovic’s team was amazing and with a full display of defending, creativity and execution prevailed 1-3 against Dnipro and took a very important step towards qualification. Obviously, nothing has been decided yet as the rematch of Leoforos is pending next Tuesday night (1/8, 20.30), but the Greens showed that with such performances they have nothing to fear on the way to the big return to the groups…

Scorers for Panathinaikos were Sporar, Djuricic (on his debut) and Ioannidis in his 100th appearance with the team. Juankar had a great match, also in his 100th appearance with the Greens, he had two assists and won a penalty. More generally, however, no player of the team was left behind in this great European night for Panathinaikos who completed 50 victories in the Champions League and dreams of even more in order to achieve the big goal of the groups…
