Nothing is stopping us! Ivan Jovanovic’s “train” continues its delirious route in the Super League. Panathinaikos won the team of Aris Thessaloniki by 1-0, achieving its nineth victory in nine games for this season’s championship, repeating the historical achievement of Juan Ramon Rocha’s splendid team for 1994-95 season.

The Greens were hard shells in one more duel. Despite the competition problems and the absences, the team had before the match to deal with and in spite of several difficulties during the duel, Panathinaikos find the way to win and celebrate. A set piece, a smart shoot by Verbic and an “iron” header from Sporar in the 92nd minute gave one more three pointer to the Shamrock, putting Leoforos stadium in …. flames!

Aris tried to react and to threaten with Iturbe in the 15th and 17th minutes but both Schenkeveld and Brignoli cleaned off the danger.

In the second half the game became much more “aggressive” especially from the moment an unsporting foul was committed against Verbic by Erebo, who got just a yellow card instead of a deserved red one.

In the 68th minute Bernard scored for Panathinaikos, nonetheless the goal was disallowed after the decision of the VAR.

During the moments that Panathinaikos was trying to realize its final counterattacks one more injury occurred. Ninety seconds after the entrance of Aitor in the pitch the Spaniard has been injured in his knee…

The Greens continued to try to score till the very end. Finally, they did it in the 92nd minute: Verbic shot a foul to the second post, Sporar was there and scored with a smart move of his head! The final score 1-0 marked the start of a crazy party by all the fans of Panathinaikos in the stadium.
