A spectacular goal from Tetteh and a third consecutive clean sheet were enough to secure another three points for Panathinaikos. The Greens continued their impressive run by claiming a 1-0 away victory over Kalamata in Neapoli.
Jacob Neestrup’s side remain firmly at the top of the Super League table, having won all five of their league matches. At the same time, the Shamrock have now recorded eight consecutive victories in all competitions, beginning with the away match against Hradec Kralove, and remain unbeaten in all 13 competitive fixtures they have played since the start of the season.
Panathinaikos took to the pitch in Neapoli with determination and intensity, aiming to score early and unlock the match. After threatening through Tetteh in the 15th minute and hitting the post through Levi in the 23rd—with the latter creating another good opportunity in the 29th—the Greens found the goal they deserved shortly after the half-hour mark.
In the 32nd minute, Tetteh received the ball outside the penalty area with his back to goal, turned, powered his way past every opponent in his path and unleashed a thunderous strike to score a sensational goal—his fifth of the season and third in the league.
In the second half, the Greens managed their lead effectively, while Peña produced an outstanding save when Hamza found himself one-on-one with him in the 62nd minute.
Levi had an opportunity to add a second goal in the 83rd minute, as did Dessers in the 90th. However, the score remained 1-0 until the final whistle, allowing the Shamrock to claim another valuable three points before the international break.
The opening part of the season was completed with a perfect record: three European qualifying-round victories and a place in the Conference League phase, five wins from five league matches and two further victories in the Greek Cup.
