Panathinaikos FC announces the signing of Anass Salah-Eddine on a season-long loan from AS Roma.
Anass Salah-Eddine was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on 18 January 2002. He took his first steps in football at the AZ Alkmaar Academy before joining Ajax’s youth system three years later.
He made his professional debut for Ajax in the Dutch league during the 2021–22 season. In 2022–23, he joined Twente on loan, where he made an excellent impression. He subsequently returned to Ajax, but midway through the 2023–24 season, Twente signed him on a permanent transfer. He excelled there for a year and a half, producing outstanding performances in both domestic and European competition, which prompted AS Roma to pay more than €8 million to bring him to the Stadio Olimpico in February 2025.
In the 2025–26 season, he returned to the Netherlands on loan, this time with PSV Eindhoven, whom he helped win the league title.
At international level, Salah-Eddine represented the Netherlands at youth level before opting to play for Morocco. He made his senior debut for Morocco in a match against Mozambique on 14 November 2025. He featured at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and was also part of the squad that competed at the recent FIFA World Cup. He played an active role in Morocco’s outstanding run in the tournament, featuring in the matches against Brazil, Haiti and the Netherlands, as well as starting the quarter-final against France.
We welcome Anass into Panathinaikos family.
