Panathinaikos FC is delighted to announce the signing of Kings Kangwa. The 27-year-old Zambian midfielder joins the Greens on a permanent transfer from the Israeli team Hapoel Beer Sheva, having signed a four-year contract with the Greens.
Kings Kangwa was born on 6 April 1999 in Kasama, Zambia. He began his football career in his homeland with Happy Hearts before moving to Buildcon, having previously spent a period with Hapoel Beer Sheva. In 2019, at the age of 20, he moved to Europe to join Russian club Arsenal Tula, where he spent three years and gained his first significant experience on the international stage.
In the summer of 2022, Kangwa signed for Red Star Belgrade. During the 2022–23 season, he won both the Serbian SuperLiga and the Serbian Cup, playing a decisive role in the club’s domestic double with 37 appearances and 11 goals.
In February 2024, he joined Belgian side Kortrijk on loan. The following summer, he returned to Hapoel Be’er Sheva on a permanent transfer. In his first season with the Israeli club, he won the Israel State Cup, while in his second campaign he helped the team win the Israeli Premier League, playing a pivotal role. During his two-year spell with the club, he made 84 appearances, scored 29 goals, and provided 20 assists.
At international level, Kangwa has represented Zambia since 2019, earning 43 caps and scoring seven goals.
