Panathinaikos FC announces the acquisition of Greek striker Fotis Ioannidis. The 20 year old player has signed a four year contract.

Ioannidis was born on the 10th of January 2000 in Athens. He did his first steps playing for Olympiakos Halkida and in summer 2016 he moved to FC Levadiakos to join the club’s U-20 team.

In August 2017 he signed his first professional contract with Levadiakos. During 2017/18 season he played in 5 games for the championship and in 4 for the cup. Throughout 2018/19 season he scored 3 goals in 20 matches in all competitions.

For 2019/20 season, prematurely terminated due to Covid-19 pandemic, he appeared 19 times in Super League’s 2 championship, scoring 5 goals.

“I feel very happy and grateful for being in such a big Club. I would like to thank my previous team, FC Levadiakos, my teammates there and the President. I want to say a big “Thank you” first and foremost to my family. Panathinaikos is a new step in my career, a dream I had from a very early age. I want to achieve many things with my new team and I am going to prove it in the pitch.

I very much liked the whole project of Panathinaikos! This was the reason I made my mind up and joined the team. I know many things about the players from the national team and I am going to do my best for the fulfilment of our targets. It is a big challenge for me to wear this team’s colors”, Fotis Ioannidis said after signing his contract.
